Preparation for Education / Work             (07/04/09)

Prepare for Take Off

At the moment, we are preparing a short program to help people who are thinking about going back to work, or who are in between jobs, and find that they need to assess their situation. The program is being tailor made to suit the people who take part, so if you are interested, make sure to call and you ideas and suggestions will be taken into account. It may be that an intensive course over a short period of time would be what people need at this point in time.

The course will be similar to the CATCH course which was delivered here a number of years ago. The people who completed that program made great progress. 63% of those who took part are working (25% full-time, 38% part-time), 13% went to on to Third Level and others are involved in Voluntary work. The participants said that among the benefits were that they were more confident and  knew how to present themselves at interview, how to put together a CV, and to fill forms etc. which benefitted both themselves their children. Any  suggestions  on this  programme are welcome.
