Reigiún na Gaéltachta was formed in late 1977, it was founded by bowlers and followers who, up until that time, had been affiliated with the North Cork branch, and had to travel long distances for their championship scores.
The region caters for:-
Junior A ,B ,C
Novice A, B, C, D
Junior Veterans
Novice Veterans
and underage from under 12's up to under 18'sfor both boys and girls.
Since its formation, the region has had success at both Munster and All Ireland levels.
Clubs affiliated to the region are Ballyvourney/Coolea, Cill na Martra, Reidh na nDoiri, Macroom, Clondrohid and Terelton.
Clubs in the region have succesfully hosted both Munster and All Ireland finals.
It is the regions aim to promote the sport of Bowling long into the future.
